$100 Android gaming console that encourages hacking?

A new gaming console that is not from Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft! Yup and its called the Ouya. Its not your regular console, considering its powered by android, encourages hacking, games are free to publish and free to play. Instead of developers having to buy a separate dev kit to develop games on, this $99 console is the dev kit.  The console is being designed by the creator of the Jawbone Jambox and One Laptop Per Child designer Yves Behar. The Verge states “Ed Fries of Xbox fame, Amol Sarva of Peek, Peter Pham of Color, and counts Julie Uhrman of IGN as its founder and CEO. There’s also a gentleman named Muffi Ghadiali, who appears to be leaving Amazon’s Lab126 where he helped ship Kindle.” all are also part of the Ouya team. I just cant see a developers wanting to develop on a console were games are all free to play. These is all a great idea and all. But who knows where it will go at the moment. It will be great to play all those classic emulators on your TV, and maybe android will finally get a XBMC port, and this could end up being a great $99 media player as well.

Check out hackluster.com to get your console modded (Xbox atm, PS3 soon) to open up its full potential and run all the homebrew your heart desires!
